Acts from Scratch

In church, over the past weeks we have been looking at the book of Acts. Acts is all about the beginnings of the first church. It tells of Peter’s first steps out into the community to tell everyone about the Good News of Jesus Christ. His life, cruel death, resurrection, and ascension into heaven. Through Jesus each one of us may have the gift of walking with Him and receiving God’s blessing every single day.

As a community at All Saints, twenty of us set about dramatizing the first twelve chapters of the Acts of the Apostles. Reading from a modern version we followed the beginnings of the church, witnessed the gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, the conversion of Saul and Peter’s revolutionary visit to the Roman centurion Cornelius.

Our reading is now available to watch, either as a whole video or to see it bite size over a few days. As one person taking part said: “I really enjoyed it. You're so right that it all becomes easier to follow when it's read out loud”. We would love to hear what you think about it. You can leave a comment on You tube or you can just tell us!! If we have enough “likes” then I think we will all be encouraged to do another dramatization later this year.
